Law Admission Test (LSAT)
Since the entrance to law schools in India is getting more and more competitive every year, the Law School Admission Test is playing a vital role in deciding the luck of the candidates willing to join law schools.
It is also a fact that most candidates fear taking the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). It is because one has to face about ½ day standardized test which is essential to pass to get admission in a law school registered with the Law School Admission Council.
The purpose of the LSAT is to analyze reading and verbal skills which are prerequisite to achieve success in this field.
Eligibility Criteria for the Law Admission Test
- You must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- You must be less than 20 years of age at the time of taking test.
- Candidates appearing for 10+2 exam can also apply for the test.
Examination Pattern of LSAT
The law admission test comprises five 35 minutes sections. These sections have objective type questions. Here it must be noted that out of five, only four section will contribute in your total marks obtained.
These sections are reading comprehension, analytical reasoning and two other sections comprising logical reasoning. The fifth section of the test includes new test items. The score of one of these sections won’t be included in your total scoring. However, you never know which that test section is! In the last, there is a 30 minute writing sample test.

After applying for the LSAT, the next step is to prepare for the exam.
- Find sample question papers and tests on the related websites. Since questions categories are often consistent, you will get an idea about the exam.
- If you wish, you can opt for course available both online and offline.
- Keep yourself calm and confident (not over-confident) while attempting questions. Since scoring is based on the right answers, avoiding giving wrong answers will result in increase in your score.
- After attempting all the questions from up to downwards; in the last, if you find that you have left a lot many blanks, then it will be better if mark some answers, no matter even if it is just guessing. There is a 20% chance that answer is the correct one. In addition to this, if you are able to avoid any wrong answers that you are not sure about, you will see an increase in your percentage.

Students with law degree can find numerous jobs. Jobs can be held in a number of courts of law both in Central and State government. Also, you can take the job of teacher, legal advisor in large corporations and business houses etc. if you wish you can also open your own legal consultancy firm.
In upshot, there is nothing to fear about the admission in the law school or the career thereafter; keep in mind that hard work always pays.
